http://mathworld.wolfram.com/Dervish.html
The Dervish is a quintic surface having the maximum number of ordinary
double points (31), where the surface meets itself ad inverts. I took
several steps to ensure it would render very very slowly:
Focal blur, samples 20
Three-point lighting with 3x3 area lights
Max_trace_level 6
AA threshold 0.1
;)

My father gave my brother a small glass box with an object in it from Japan. He
never described it adequatly and my brother got so tired of being asked about it
that he eventually took a labelmaker to it and put the following message on it:
"I have no idea what this is. Please don't ask."
I'm sure that there is a reason that your image reminded me of that....
Good image.

I like it, the way the light shines on the glass seems a bit
wrong, but it's probably down to taste. Nice work.
