Looks like you're calculating fewer points along the torus and drawing the
squares in and not smoothing your triangles ; )

actually, It can't be that easy, but I bet you are rotating and translating
instead of using a parametric equation

Cool.
If you make the cylinders a dull silverish color and put a bumpy normal
on the red parts it would look more like a stained glass structure.
...just a thought.

Cool! Now darken the scene; make the panels semi-transparent with a good
ior; add in some funky turbulated emitting media (like glowing gas) inside
the object; add in point lights with a good fade_distance and fade_power in
the center of each segment; and hover the beasty over some rippling water in
a large copper dish in the center of an open-skied altar place with
moonlight trailing down on the scene.

or.. Just leave it like it is. :{)

David

And so on, and so forth...

Nope, that is the deceptively easy way, but I want quadrilaterals, not triangles,
and they have to be coplanar of course...

I took that from a Japanese cartoon, all I did was replace "Shougo" for
"David". I means "I knew that the great David was a god!" :-)
