The image was created with a ridgedmf isosurface. Although low in memory
consumption it took half an hour in a 233 Mhz iMac to render.

Looks promising, even though it misses some reflection of the sky (is
there a sky ? :-)

I'm also not sure about the sharp dark lines.

I think it's great! i belive the dark lines actually _will_ show up. Only a
hunch, of course. I can really see this with some blinn-highlights, photons
and stuff! IMO this ridgedmf is _perfet_ for a semi-stirred-up ocean.

How about some transparency, some slight turbulence in the pigment, and a
foreboding shark fin to go along with the dark, ominous mood?

I haven't thought of using ridgedMF for water yet, it works good! Is yours an
isosurface, hf, or surface normal on a plane?

A great demonstration of the ridgedmf isosurface, congrats! The shape
is great, now go for the surface and interior properties and it'll
look perfect!

Well, actually there is no sky, only a white background. I'll put a sky
and see what happens.

Alberto.

Thanks for the comments. I also considered the blinn-highlights but the
isosurface uses a 1.3 ior and that's too low for this purpose. :-(

Alberto.

As I mentioned before it's an isosurface

isosurface{function{y - myridgedmf(x, y, z)}...
