Cool stuff. I was able to make a sphere a lot like yours, except it has
triangular sides. Unfortunately, it has redundant triangles :(

Why anyone would want a macro that makes a POV-Ray image look like a
poor 3DS image is beyond me?

I meant the sides of mine were like a cut crystal ball, like a person would hang in
a window.

It might come in handy, plus with the find edges filter things might get
interesting, but mostly I'd say it's the joy of learning and figuring out
how to do it that makes the project worth while.
