No he hasn't. Not Yet. He needs a small thread or two supporting it.
Then it will mimic a cheap tv show... actually, it's hard to see at this
size, is there an image slightly larger we could see?

Let's not forget that the shadow of the ship should cast onto the starfield
(AND) that the shadow should be on the same side as the sun.

I think it looks better now than before, but maybe you
are overdooing the textures it a little bit.
It seems to new and glossy. (And for me some of the
"squares" looks like ivory !)
Try some less glossy textures with less contrast between
the colours.
Btw:
I would love to see the texture on the torus on some
other shapes. How did you do this texture ?

animated gif. I like this one more than the gray splotchy one. Very rugged
