I played around a little bit with the codesnippet that Paul Daniel Jones
provided in p.b.s-f. This little diamond in the rough was the result.

Photons, media, iossurfaces and what not. Trace and parse time totalled
to 4h 0m 26s on a PIII 650 with 192 Mb RAM. THe machine runs WinNT and a
bunch of other things in the background. Uhm, what else ... yes, the
command line options were as thus: +FT +QR +FN +AM2 +A0.1 +R5

I might put on a larger render later on, I just wanted to see how it
looked like first. :-)

Looks like translucent alien poop. Cool.

Very good look to it, albeit small. Makes me think of a brain that has
crystallized maybe, were there such a thing. That's a slow render, so perhaps
half a day to render at twice the size? Yeow.

Hehehe, thanks ... I think. :-)

Well, I'm having my machine do a 320x240 render now, with the same
settings. It's at line 47 at the moment with a runtime of 4h 48m, and
the blasted thing makes it impossible to watch my DVDs at the same time.
:-((

But it looks darn good so far. :-)) I changed the IOR to that of a real
diamond: 2.471

Looks nice. Speedup tip: +am2 +a0.1 +r3
I don't think you'll get much visual difference. Even +r2 usually turns out
good with adaptive sampling.

Dispersion? :)

Hmm, thanks, I'll try that instead.

That can be arranged... :-) I can post the source in p.b.s-f. Nothing
original in there though, just code snippets stoled here and there.

Yes, it's my Ducati Il Mostro, nicknamed Clementine for obvious reasons.
If you wish, go to my webpage and have a look:
