Hi all,

This is my last post... (I'm really far behind you ;-))

Well... This is just a screenshot of my (not-on-line) web-site...
All is hand-coded like I use to, but this is a post-processed pic :
- the ring buttons are little pics (green and red)
- the background just contains bar-title and left and right plates...

I'm not so happy with that : lack of something-I-don't-know-what...

Note : This is NOT an advertisement for you to come visit my site : it's not on-line.
Note2 : the '.com' is to be replaced by '.net' in the near future...

I like that all the screws are differently oriented.

Neat.

how about changing the background color? Try very light wood, or just
plain white, with area lights producing soft shadows of the objects
(make a scene with a high-diffuse white plane behind each object and
render, then cut each object with its shadow, and in the HTML document
put the pics and make the background white).

How about english?

I like your background and the "hand-written" font beside the knobs.

One layout "rule" is to not use more than 2 (or max. 3) different
fonts on a page.

As far as I can see you are using 3 different font types.
And one of these are in 3 different sizes and even in a bold and
a cursive variation.

Maybe your page will improve if you reduce the number of
font variations(?)

And it's also wise to choose fonts that "fits" each other.
(I'm not sure if all of the fonts on your page are "in harmony"
with each other.)

But doesn't that mean that if someone chooses to ignore your advice to
set their screen to 800 x 600, the relative positions of everything goes
haywire? Or if they open their "favourites" or "history" panel. Or use
an obscure browser such as Fresco. Or use WebTV. Or print the page out
with "print background" enabled.

Wouldn't it perhaps be better to make the bar title and the two plates
separate from the background, and place them so that they adjust their
position sensibly when the display conditions vary (e.g. by using an
invisible table to hold everything)?

An additional advantage to removing foreground objects from the
background is that you might be able to re-use some of the components on
other pages, and significantly reduce the amount of graphic reloading
when changing page.

Looks good, now I've got ideas of making pov buttons for my
site, no I can't do it, it'll make loading a lot slower.

That was such an evidence for me... I've never been victorious in screw-alignment :-)

Tried that (wood)... but the file is much heavier (135k in plain res.)

That's nearly what I'm doing :-)

Well... My actual page is french and english... but it is such a job to do updates
correctly...
Maybe later...

Yes... I'm not that good in html... :-(
.. but I am doing some changes, so I will try... :-)

Yes. but I have only 2 big pics : title pic and the background. These two are loaded
by the browser and re-used for each page if necessary, no ???
