This has looks like it has great animation possibilities. Are you using
a spherical warp on the isosurface?

As someone who has never seen a clown explode, I will just have to take
your word for it...
I actually think the second one looks like a computer representation of
part of a tornado or hurricane.

No, I did not use a spherical warp on the isosurface, and rather than try to
explain what I did,
I will post the source code in povray.text.scene-files in a day or two. I
imagine, however,
that what I did is functionally equivalent to the spherical warp you
mention......
