Well, after a couple days the powdered sugar starts collecting
moisture and gets sticky. If that's what your shooting for they
look great. Change the name from "Fresh" donuts to "2-Day Old Donuts"
and you'll be all set. :)

Umm, nothing at all about lemons...
It was a reference to a scene in a book by Douglas Adams, "Dirk Gently's
Holistic Detective Agency".
Basically, one character was fixing tea for his guest. He was working
out of sight of the guest, and he asked "One lump or two?", and then he
asked if he wanted sugar too.
If you don't get it, think about what happens when milk goes bad...
BTW, I usually don't use milk in my coffee and only sometimes use it in
tea, and never use sugar in either of them.

Good, only thing is that they seem too perfect.
Need some way to vary them. Maybe some uneven
scaling that varies between donuts.

More sugar... I want to see it all over the floor when i eat one... And

Long Dark Tea-Time was good, and the Hitchhiker's Guide is unmissable.
I think you can d/l the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy from somewhere,
but it's more comfortable reading the book.

Not if you have a Palm. :)
But I'm going to guess that even if you can download it from somewhere, it's
no different than downloading stolen software and/or mp3's from somewhere.

I've actually found the MP3 version around on the 'Net several times. I
checked one of the files out. Weird book. I don't get it. Something about
God self-destructing, and something about a translating fish... IIRC.

Read on.
What you've come accross are probably the Recordings made for Radio. They
come back on Radio 4 every few years and are so good you can listen to them
time an time again without getting board.

The part about 'God self-destructing' is the best mockery of all
religious arguments that I have ever encountered. It is a great
example of both the falacial logic some people use to disprove the
existence of God to a true believer, and that true believer's
reaction.
(Logic man to God): 'So you see, you don't exist'
(God): 'Oh, I haven't thought about that' (disappears in a puff of
logic)
Adams doesn't mock God, he mocks the argument. And at least you, Tony,
would agree that the argument about the existance of God deserves
mocking. As does the one about evolution/creation, which Adams mocks
as well.
And you're right, it's a pretty weird book :)
Gone to off-topic land.

You missed my point. HHGTG is COPYRIGHTED WORK. No matter whether you download
a text file of it or an MP3 of it, you're breaking the law. Go buy the book;
surely even the least wealthy person reading this news server can afford five
bucks for a paperback. If you can't, go borrow it from your public library.

I'm sorry, Ron, but you don't understand something. a) I'm not interested in
the book, I was just curious at the time. The file is long gone. b) Books in
English are very hard to come by here in Panama, so I'm pretty sure that
that one won't be in any store. If the stores don't have it, then be sure
that the Libraries won't carry it either. Everything is in Spanish.

It's a lot more than five bucks for a friggin' paperback around here! But I agree
most people can still easily afford it.
And the problem with books is you don't realize they're crap until after you pay the
$15 (yes, $15) and actually read it and by then you've wasted irreplaceable time and
money. I'm not saying al books are bad, some are definitely good (like HHGTG). Then
there's the music industry... usually only one or two songs on a CD are well known
and you can almost never listen before you buy. I'm not saying anything about
myself, but lots of people use illegal mp3s as a "listen before you buy" thing.

I have three mp3s downloaded from a Bulgarian server which I like a
lot and would like to buy the whole album. The problem is that
copyright info has been removed and the filenames are indescriptive
(GH1CD2.mp3 for example). The server is now down so I can't approach
the admin, and all searches on the web leave me clueless as who the
artist and/or the album might be. So there.

http://www.amazon.com and there are others that sell books internationally,
my friends use the US site and not the one in UK, as the UK version keeps
sending them the wrong books.

HHGTG 9.99 here in paperback, works out at about 15-17 dollars, the list price
in Aus is 24 dollars. If you're not working, that's a lot of money, and to most
people who are working it's still a lot.
It's cheaper to buy the CDs here than it is to d/l the MP3s, (due to the price
of phone calls here).

Sorry for this completely irrelevant post but I had to say it, I can
unfortunately not afford five bucks, I actually only have £2.14 to my
name!

Sounds familiar. Two weeks ago the family assets hit the ¢50 floor
(about as much as a loaf of bread here). Thankfully I got some money
that same day but it sure was the tightest situation we've ever been
into.

Hmm, all my mp3s are in the Artist - Song format, and I have bought 3 CDs recently
entirely based on mp3s, two I had never even heard of before.

Mine, too, but these three are not and they're driving me nuts because
I can't search the net based on two letters only. I might ask at the
Usenet but aside from c.g.r.r. I've never gotten a useful response to
my posts there.

Nope. US.
Last book I had to read for English: "The Color of Water", paperback, normal size, on
the
spine: $14.99 US

WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!
Man, did they see you coming.
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0345391802/o/qid=951086745/sr=2-1/102-2693460-5552045

http://search.borders.com/fcgi-bin/db2www/search/search.d2w/Details?&mediaType=Book&prodID=2613314
List price $6.99
On-line price: $5.59
To be fair, perhaps your local stores just don't have a good selection. Thus the
reason for
Amazon, bn.com and others like that. The large paperback has a list price of $12.00.
I'm lucky here. When I do bother reading the libraries in this area have a decent
collection. Also, there are many good used book stores all over the place.

Sorry, my mistake. It was a couple bucks less. $12.99. But it was a relatively small
book. I
could easily see another going $15. Anyway, it was the school's book, so it's not like
I give
a rat's ass. Didn't care much for it, don't care much for Cry the Beloved Country.
Here's an idea: let's read a book that doesn't use a racially segregated historical
context
to preach social values.

On the cover is says:
UK £9.99
Australia $24.95
Not for sale in Canada
and £9.99 is about 15 to 17 US$. The 'Not for sale in Canada'
I think is just one of those cases of life immitating ray-tracing.
A post from Bill over in p.o-t said something about not being valid
in Canada or Wisconsen.

I think you'll have to wait a generation or two before you see such a
book. Any pervasive social change takes at least one generation to
effect itself and it's only been about one generation since we were
forcefully made aware of the racial inequities we live by(60s race
riots), and awareness is only the first short step...
It's kind of funny in a way: Two thousand years ago, the Romans didn't
have such problems... Progress? What Progress?
