While the sky as you say needs work that is the best snow job from POV-Ray

i havn't used bryce in about 3 years, but this is nicer than any
mountains i ever made back then.

maybe a little mountain generator is in order then, as I have also never
seen mountain ranges of such realism before, don't get me wrong Bryce and
other similar tools do a great job, but are nothing after the last few
posted here
