Neat one. Has some heightfield possibilities as well. I hope this wasn't
rude but I couldn't resist trying it out.

This looks like polar coordinates distortion. PhotoShop? If so, try
converting it to grayscale, then to indexed color, and then give it a
black body palette. Will give it a volcano look.

Looks like something by H.R. Geiger, boiled down to the most primitive level.
I rather like it. Creepy.

Nope, it's Picture Publisher. First I did the "metal" filter which makes a
metal engraving, then I crystallized it. What's a black body palette?

A gradient going from black through red through yellow to white. You
can make a height_field based on your grayscale image and give it a
gradient y pigment with a color_map like:
color_map { [0 Black][0.25 Red][0.75 Yellow][1 White] }
or similar. This, and any other weird stuff as well. That's what art
is for.
