Little something I stumbled upon.
Just a white sphere on a white plane, lit by two point lights encased in
tiny filtering spheres with photos spherically mapped onto them.
A simple scene, but a remarkable final image... I was surprised when I
saw it!
The photo is of the canadian tunrda in summer.

I've got to have this as a back drop (and I'm usually a single colours
backdrop man :-) . Is there a high res version available, or can you
post the source and images to p.b.s-f please?

Very textured look to it instead of being like filtered light. Found the
circular array of pixels since you told what it was but I might have overlooked
that if nothing said.

It looks like the pattern comes from the object and not the light. The
circularity gives it a petrified wood-type look.

I'll render a high res version tomorrow.
As for the source, there's really nothing to it. Just the filtering spheres,
the pointlights, and the scenery.
Experiment! I've tried this with a few different photos, and they all look
interesting. Even low res ones look good when they fade out to a blocky
mosaic...
