Interesting, are the molding lines made of toruses with a small minor
radius?
It might be interesting to make a version with the balls made of two
joined hemispheres, each with a different texture. So the balls would be
half one texture and half another, joined with that seam.

Great image! I especially love the ground texture.
The seem is part of the normal map?

Close, I actually used an extremely squashed sphere, but a torus would look
the same, eh?

How dare you post this here!!!
This is a family newgroop.
I, for one, will never read or post here again.
I encourage all to do the same.

p.s.
berry berry nice balls.
I would have guessed torii.
A most elegant solution (squashed spheres).

Thanks, I spent a lot of tweaking getting the texture "just so" ...

a torus would be a little more fiddely, looks great with a sphere!
btw, quite relieved to see a shere / plane picture with no reflection, or
checkers anywhere!

Very nice realism, and it looks so simple. It reminds me of those rubber
"super-bounce" balls on an excersize mat. How did you place the balls?
I'm curious as to how you distributed them.

Is that camera distortion at the edges? Some of them look oblong.
Dirk
Otherwise, it rocks. Reminds me of the final marbles scene in Men In Black.
