But that is exactly what HF-lab does. Albeit procedural alogrithms for
alluvial motion is hard to make, and HF-lab is probably just using a
approximation to the process. 

I suspect that you have not tried the program? Originally made by John
Beale now Yann Ramin have continued the work, you can find it here:

Thanks, the HF used to produce the image is a 2000x2000 .png file, and
if I wish to make it bigger it is no problem to use HFlab to double the
output.

Hmmm, maybe you should have turned this image around, I'm seeing the famous hill
illusion where holes should be.
Don't know about that green stuff, it's looking like it was dusted with algae to
me, but then that's just how I am.
