I downloaded Megapov this week and played with it a bit... mmmh...
This is a method-3-emitting-media with a function driven density. (I was
trying to do a flame but got carried away.)
I posted a ~350KB bu animated version in p.b.a, where the camera rotates
around the media.
Megapov is marvellous (and a bit overwhelming). I was pleasantly surprised
to see how smooth it is to install and use. Many, many thanks to Nathan and
all
the others.
I'll try some isosurfaces this evening. Actually I already began while I was
breakfasting - I guess that's why I was late at work today :-)
Povingly,
Philippe

Your "flame" has become what they used to call, and maybe still do, modern art.
Nearly some sort of fractal even, not what I was expecting to see.

Now this image is SWEET indeed.. I love the smooth abstract feel of it.

Ok then, suppose I'll have to install MegaPov and waste
even more time when I really should be doing other
things.

I was too... but I couldn't stand seeing so many neat usage of so many new
features, I had to try it. The switch is _really_ easy to do:
* get MegaPov from Nathan's website
* unzip MegaPov.exe and place it in povray/bin
* run it
and all your previous scenes should work although with some small diferences
in the output image. And the official POV is still there, running perfectly.
Disclaimer:
This is from memory, for Windows. As it was really smooth - I had no trouble
at all - I may already have forgotten a step - check the doc.
Warning:
It is now a week since I downloaded MegaPov, and my computer is now
rendering 24/7... animated media, mmh :-)
Povingly,
Philippe

I'd like to point out that this image is more the result of an accident
(wild experimentation) than any real 'work'. Still like it, anyway. The
source is in p.b.s-f.

Philippe
