Better yet is there a way to reduce the number of colour in an image to
16bit, sometimes i render an image and want to keep the concentric curves!!

tried psp, but it dosnt seem to do exactly what i am after..

	To decrease color depth and have these concentric curves in psp, you
should use the "nearest color" option... If you don't want these curves,
use "error diffusion"...
	Here are two sample gifs of the toothbrush, one with error diffusion
and the other with nearest color.
