I dared to make this using Xara 3d, and not POV. Don't flame!

Now, surely you could do this same scene with Pov, right? :)

It's good.
You could do this in POV without changing the general design.
The letters could be objects taken out of a block of glass. The
letters could be colour mapped so as to reflect their original
colour, the glass would stay transparent. You could put a
delicate normal on the white plane behind the image, and even may
get some stunning results using photons.
Just speaking my mind, don't want to dampen your enthusiasm or
creativity.
Cheers
Steve

The image looks good enough but ___XARA___....?
Where can I find this font? I'd like to see what I can do...

I agree: No flame, but a POVFest logo really _has_ to be done in POV.
Anything else would be like catching Steven Jobbs hiding a Windows box under
his iMac cover... :-)

What is the image you posted from? Is it Pov-Ray media? A photograph? I can't tell its
too small, if its
media then I'd be very interested in how you got that to look so much like a flame!
