As I have said before : Definitely not, because you have to consider the
ratio (Necessary Complexity
/ usefullness) to be a winner :-)
I still consider myself the winner, obviously Gilles Tran's has not a chance
as he says himself
"It's good to create pipes, oil refinerie, Death Star tunnels, and er,
pipes and oil refineries."

perhaps the design of a #macro that will create a #macro that will allow you to
design a #macro that will create a #macro that will allow you to design a
#macro to create......

I made one just like this only it uses media and photon mapping! It
takes forever to render but the Black Depth looks fantastic! It's
not quite ready though, I'm still working on the Blackness recursion...

I have some improvement suggestions for Grim's macro:
It could also set the output resolution to whatever it is set to
and also set the output file type and directory to whatever it is
already set to. I'm sure it could also send a message to screen
and file, every time it had finished tracing a line or even
pixel.

Anyone trying to create a Borg ship will definitely disagree about the
"unusefulness" of this macro!

Giles, sorry but your trying far to hard, this has to be one of the best
Macro generated scenes I have seen in a long while. This really rocks!

Now this produces some very interesting shapes.. can't find a use for it in any
scene now... dammit, i'd like to use it :-)
Looks good, and I think you will take high scores in the contest with this.

It was posted in povray.binaries.utilities last Friday under the title
"useless macro challenger : the Pipe macro".
