It's good.
You could do this in POV without changing the general design.
The letters could be objects taken out of a block of glass. The
letters could be colour mapped so as to reflect their original
colour, the glass would stay transparent. You could put a
delicate normal on the white plane behind the image, and even may
get some stunning results using photons.
Just speaking my mind, don't want to dampen your enthusiasm or
creativity.

I agree: No flame, but a POVFest logo really _has_ to be done in POV.
Anything else would be like catching Steven Jobbs hiding a Windows box under
his iMac cover... :-)

This could have been done with POVray no problems, your just not trying hard
enougth!

What is the image you posted from? Is it Pov-Ray media? A photograph? I can't tell its
too small, if its
media then I'd be very interested in how you got that to look so much like a flame!

It is a media flame. The source is available from rhe Pov objects collection
at twysted.net. http://twysted.net/povobjects/ in the burning and fire section.
I just borrowed the image for the flaming of the thread.
