Gee .. looks like the one sitting on my credenza!  Very nice!!

I'd suggest you thicken the base (the gold/ brass part) quite a bit and
reduce the glass a bit.  In all the lamps I have, the brass base is rather
large (in height).

This is a fine image! My first impression was that the lower end of the
shade needed to be a bit wider, but I think that's an artistic choice.

I find it hard to work on glass of this complexity, due to render times. Do
you work with other textures, as I do, and then render the final versions in
glass?

This is a really good modelling work, and all the additions I can give are....
none :-)

well, ok, one... the texture on the shade... a tiny bit more towards yellow...
