By the way, the shade of "brown" in my picture matches the original pretty

Hmm, the light needs some work...
as for the woods, try a loop to create some cylinders pointing up. at that
distance, the result could be ok.

It would appear to be that there is more highlighting in the photo
objects. The water is very reflective due to the shallow angle, 90% or
so perhaps? Looks like you've been able to follow the real thing rather
well thus far.

I would definitely say that your original will to
keep the fog is a good idea.  You need the fog so
that the fence and gate show up properly.

Keep going it's going to be one hell of a picture.
