I was looking for something in Computers and the Imagination, a 1991
book by Clifford Pickover, and I happened across the following
possibly relevant bit of conversation.

"Hey kids, did you hear about what's happening on Mulberry Street?
There's some kind of creature carrying on with Mr. Tyler's rusty old
computer!"

This was in a little story called "The Big Black Bug", about a
squidlike alien insect that was using the said machine for
reproductive purposes.  Could there be a connection here?
