Here's something I did a while back by combining several images together and
adding lense-flares manually. It's older work, so nothing technically
fantastic. Just felt like sharing.

Hey, this looks like a photograph that someone tried to make look like a
fake. You're not fooling me, though... ;-)

OMG, UFO's are real! Run for your lives, we're all gonna' diee!

Hey, pretty good. The motion blur came out good too. How many extra
frames did it require?

Look everybody !
It's flying tableware and is says on the bottom "made in Taiwan".
Seriously though this would make a good magazine cover for a sci-fi rag mag.

whew! sweet. I like the sky and trees even more than the spaceships
acutally. I wish I could do that...*sigh*

I think I did about 15 renderings for the motion blur, and then 7 renders
for the depth of field. So about 105 renderings altogether
(and, ---definintly---, I used a batch file). That's why the image is so
small, it took a hefty amount of time just to render it. Also, the
background IS a photograph. Someone mentioned that it looked great, and
yeah, that's because it is a photograph. I was attempting to make the image
look not-superimposed.

I had to recreate the environment in PovRay so that the lighting would match
that in the original picture. I did that by using several different light
sources and fog. The background was rendered as part of the image so that
the motion blur and antialiasing would come out correct. I then did some
post processing in PhotoPaint and added lense-flares with some alpha maps.

Also, since the depth of field didn't turn out exactly the way I wanted it
to, I used PhotoPaint to correct the problem. This image is about 30% PovRay
in reality, the rest is pre- and post-processing.

Thanks for comments,
D.J.
