ok, i put a fog in the skull scene, played with a couple columns, and i
think it looks pretty neat.   This is basically just doodling with the
computer, but you learn some neat stuff by just going, hey what happens
when i do this?

IMHO it will look much more "underwaterish" if you apply a subtle
normal perturbation to the camera ray.
