Well, after getting into someone's need of doing Chinese for a chess
render, I went and started a patch to do Unicode. So, does anyone care?
Any suggestions on the text its self? (Go easy, this was a very first
image just to test the text patch)

I'm mainly fishing for feedback and interest in non-English text.

There is a very strong interest from an IMP point of view.
When Dave and I were working on the credits we had no way
of modeling the international charecters using the text
object because of the current limitations in the windows
version of Pov. However you did it keep a copy around. It
can be used later for the IMP if nothing else.

Esp. since I happen to live in one of those countries where there is need for high

great! oh, in the next version.. oki, I'll wait ;-) *hint hint*

Improve placing??? Where have you been ;-)

Hint, hint:
Check out the Superpatch ( can be found at http://twysted.net/patchstation/ )or just
Ron
Parker's 'Object Bounds' patch
Take a quick peek: http://www2.fwi.com/~parkerr/traces.html#objbound

And yes, Ron will try to get the Unicode support into the superpatch when he gets a
chance.

BTW, would you be able to settle for UTF-8, 8859-1 and CP-1252 support? Perhaps UTF-8
only.

I can't tell you much about the text or whether the patch is useful or not. I
just wanted to say that this image is one of the most powerful I've seen here.
Very, very good.
It's one of those things that will keep on crawling through memory to pop up
where ever it can.

Regards,

Remco
