If You create different patches, then try to change their texture
(pigment) as well: this may help to get rid of little flatness or
monotony. I can't help on displaying myself : look to thread, named
"YAGS (Yet another grass scene)": there I have variable texture and it
seems to add depthness. Otherwise, shape of Your grass blades is quite
realistic, much more better, than mine.

Sidenote:
Now we have quite good grass, Warp posted his macro, which could be used
for football gate (somebody scored, what's the score?), there is good
football model available, so perhaps there is time to get ready for
Euro2000 championship by creating some renderings for it (if someone
could create good players, having their "footballers kamasutra (sp?)"
after goal and public going wild...). But I'm afraid, that this will
leave part of PovRay users uninterested.
