I've gone back a step to the one you said was stretching and tried to copy the
stance in the photo. Is that better?

I think that there are a couple of things that are in the way of enlightenment
:)
Mostly it is because we are working remotely and you can't point at the screen
and say move that. Secondly I think that you can imagine what the dog looks like
from the side but I only have a vague idea. I need to be able to visualise from
at least three elevations. Poser is quite exacting and I am no expert. I
generally only use it in a rough and ready manner.
You should think of your requirements the way you would if you were writing a
spec. e.g. Lower the chest, move the right paw back and lift the right shoulder.
Turn the head to the right keeping the line of the eyes parallel to the ground
etc.
I hope that this one is a bit nearer what you want.

Yes, this is much closer. Maybe if it looked just a bit more to its
left it would be even better. The tail could be higher (basically the
only difference from the dog photo).

Well, it's now definitely closer, although not exactly. Well, I
suppose it will have to do. It's not like there's much time left before
the deadline, and I still have to get the composition and lighting done.

I've posted the files to p.b.m name of Fox4

I'll re-align the fox to be more in line with the photo.

I've posted the files to p.b.m name of Fox6 in zip format. Let me know if you
can get it unpacked.

And good luck

I've just done a test render in PovRay and the texture won't stand up to a close
up :(
Also the hind legs look too flat against the body.

I will correct this

The texture is not all that important in my image, and I managed to
make the legs not too visible, so the current version is working
acceptably fine for what I want. I'm using it for the scene.

  Thanks for your work.

The least that I could do for http://warp.povusers.org/povtips/ That tutorial
has been a godsend for me.
