Let me sum it up:

4 hours for:
- modelling of wings, body, etc. (spatch ?)
- drawing of the texture maps
- modelling additional stuff (guns, etc.)
- put everything together
- adding some glows
- Building up a nice lighting and camera position

You must either be cheating or using some advanced AI reading your
thoughts and ...

Nice pict. BTW.

Christoph

It looks more like lens-flares, which are lens-effects :-)

I don't see why, they don't do anything that can't be done with media or
tricks with highlights on transparent objects...they are just a bit
faster.

They are a -lot- faster, easier to manipulate and get the parameters
right, and usually have a nicer effect with hours less trouble. Therefore
people will use them. I wouldn't feel bad putting a thousand in a scene if
it needed it. If I had to mess with media for that I would find another way
to do the scene.

Thanks for the link...I don't have near enough time to cruise around looking
for these type of sites.

As far as the model...looks superb, yet it's a shame you hide a large amount
of detail with low lighting.
