Wow I love that texture, only it doesn't seem quite right for a B5 like
station, that is what this is right? I think there is too much contrast
between the different patches on the long docking arm thingy. I really
like the way the specular lighting reflects off the surface, it really
looks like individual plates, I've always wanted to do something like
that, how did you make this texture?

Some time ago, I did something similar.  This is an object I was working
on for the "Ruins" IRTC round, but didn't finish in time.  It was never 
intended to be seen from so close, so it's not as detailed as the view
requires, but the roof and the siding demonstrate a "plates" effect without
needing actual plates.

The main part of the house is just boxes in CSG, with one large box per
wall and other boxes (and planes) to cut out the windows and roofline.  
All of the detail is in the textures.
