Okies, here it is, the animated version of the zoom-in to the surface of a
barren planetoid. The video consists of 2 separate parts combined together. The
result is a bit rough on the edges and wobbly to the core, but it's a start
anyway. My first serious try on animation in POV in some 20 years or so. :)

Not bad for a first animation in 20 years. :)

It really deserves to be slower and longer. It moves too fast for my 
aged eyes. ;)

Yes, it ended up being a bit hasty indeed. Already working on some other stuff,
but I'll try to find a spot for making a slower and longer version of this one

I am always underestimating how long an animation should be.

Here's another version with more frames in it, thus a bit longer and slower than
the first one. The animation consists of 2 separate parts again, so I couldn't
manage to make the transition from 1st to 2nd quite as smooth as I had wanted.

Yes, that is better. :)

What is causing it to go out of focus? Is that the isosurface or is the 
space pilot had too much to drink? :)

It is really hard to do just using PovRay. A third party tool to fade 
the clips together. Would probably be a good idea.

Having said that I did attempt to do it in the animation below. About 8 
seconds in I put a transparent box in front of the camera then played 
with the normals to fuzz things up.

I was experimenting with some BVH movement files in Poser.

I like to think the probe keeps auto-adjusting/recalibrating during the
closing-in. Also the local conditions can have their effects on the equipment as
well due to eg. pressure, radiation, magnetic field and so on. :)

Now when I think of it, a buzzing sound combined with the focus effect would be
cool. :D

Aye, afterwards I was also thinking of some kind of fade effect added there some
way. For these two animations I just quickie-used VirtualDub on my computer at
work, and didn't take a further look at the features that thoroughly yet. But
gotta check again, and possibly fiddle around more on the future stuff to come.
