Hi,
I want to share another puzzle animation I created, featuring the Two Burrs in a
Basket puzzle designed by Logan Kleinwaks. The puzzle is ingenious and is
actually multiple puzzles in one. The first puzzle is to remove all parts from
the basket. Releasing the first part is easy, but then it takes another 25 moves
to release the next part, gravity helping out for some.
Once you have all parts released, you need to figure out how to divide the
twelve parts so you can make two six-part burr puzzles out of them. There is
only one way. Assembling the burrs is also challenging. One burr is even level
17, meaning that seventeen moves are needed to release the first part.
With regards to the render, nothing too fancy was needed. Although compared to
my earlier puzzle animations, there was more need for combined motions and
rotations, with varying centers of rotation, so I had to extend my macro-toolbox
to facilitate that. Who knows, this toolbox might eventually become generic and
useful enough to share.
Attached is a preview image. The actual animation can be found on YouTube at:

I hope you like it.
Cheers,
Erwin

Erwin,
I very much enjoy the animations and hope you continue to produce new ones.
I am always reminded how bad I am at doing such puzzles. I can't think how
someone thinks them up in the first place,
Thanks,
Jim T.
