I was curious to see what the results of animating such an interesting and short
piece of code would be.
360 Frames, 1 deg of rotation per frame.

Agate started out looking a lot like granite, so I stopped that and went with
marble.  That started out looking like nothing much at all and then rapidly
surprised me.  It also appears that there is a 4-fold rotational symmetry to the
marble pattern.
