Hello,

I post a new liquid animation. It's a cup of wood falling in a tank of
water.

I introduced the handling of particules in suspension in the water. It's the
first results that I have. You can see that there is a problem with the
object speed at the end of the simulation that doesn't decrease (probably
because I only take into account for the normal efforts between the water
and the object).

I made a quick rendering (no photons and no radiosity).

The video is xvid encoded (I don't succeed to encode it in MPEG1 with good
enough quality and a size of 700 Ko).

Any comment is welcome.

Regards,
Fidos.

The motion of the cup at the beginning seems very clunky, as if the
initial velocity is too high. The cup seems to jump instantaneously
from it's position above the water, to being submerged in it. After
that though, the movement is very fluid (no pun intended!) and the
suspended particles are fascinating to watch.

Hey now, that's got some potential for analyzing fluid dynamics, eh? ;)

The spin of the cup is curious. Like it might be interacting in a volatile
way with the "liquid". Doesn't styrofoam do that in gasoline?

the turbulence in the fluid is absolutely amazing. well done.

Wow, watching the embedded granules flow turbulently with the water was very
fascinating. I'd love to see more like this. And I would favor sacrificing
radiosity and photons to have longer animations. Well done and looking
forward to your next effort :)

Ah, very nice.

Must have taken hours to render...

The redering was not so long, around 5 hours. It is because I didn't use
photons and radiosity.

Oh, right.

My ordinary matt spheres took longer than that...

Hi is there any chance in getting the stuff for own renders??

Regards,

Thor
