I must admit the track is not that pretty yet, but the physics model is
there. My track deflects under load, all part of my SFX anim if I ever
complete it. Any thoughts on the physics aside from the rails not moving
toward the centre under load?

James

I would make the materials even stiffer, if they're supposed to be solid
metal.

Could be an invisible 10 ton weight attached.

The rails and supports begin to flex a long way ahead of the wheels, though,
so that does tend to make it appear very plastic. I'm thinking of train
wheels on tracks and those rails only seem to bend near the moment of
passage, possibly because they are on the ground. Things like roller
coasters or the other amusement park variants never look like they flex much
either. Could be that John's right then and you might want that to bend a
little as seen from a closer viewpoint and nearer the wheels. All that
aside, the effect seen in the animation is good for demonstrating weight on
rails. Can't recall seeing that done before.
