Hello,
I post a new fluid animation done with my fluid simulator. It's a ball
falling in a tank of water. It's my first results of a simulation where the
(object -> water) and (water -> object) interactions are computed.
The object is animated with ODE (http://www.ode.org/). I stopped to use
MechSim because I faced some stability problem.
The rendering is done with MegaPov 1.0.
The video is MPEG1 encoded.
Any comment is wellcome.

Thank you. The simulation took around 12 hours and the rendering around 10
hours.

Very nice!
Nitpicking: There's a lot of water on the ball after it pops up again,
and that water seems pretty glue-like (not fluent enough).
And thanks for pointing out ODE, too, didn't know it before.

It's a good point. The problem is coming from the way I handle the water /
object interface. I extend the speed of the object in the water which
results in that glue effect. I think that it also provoques the reduction
of the splash when the ball enter in the water. This last point is
something that I would like to improve.

The feeling I get looking at this one is that the water is very thick. I
think that is because it's a plain blue ball, which makes it hard to
imagine what the impact of the ball hitting the water should be. If you for
instance used a ping-pong ball, a wooden ball or a metal ball texture one
would easier 'recognize' the effect the ball should have on the water
(given that you want to simulate plain water).
I love seeing your progress and always look out for the next animation.
Again it's absolutely nice to look at.
