Hi Folks,

here is my first try to get familiar with animated media and density.
Hope i'll get some comments on it. (sniff) Movie is a XviD, because i
simply have no MPEG encoding software and XviD offers better compression
rate with lower quality loss than encoding an MPEG. What about of deleting
the file restriction to only MPEG-1 ? Stoneage is over ! :)) Not meant bad,
just a fact.

Bye, Shu.

Very nice looking. How are you modifying the density pattern to produce
this?

Hi Thomas,
Thanks for Your comment.
The density has been created by using the crackle pattern, like shown by
Chriss Huff and his density sphere. I think the file is contained in the
POV-Ray installation. Then You only need to add some turbulence and some
rotation. Thats it. I only added one media statement, using 4 or more will
look much better, but will increase the rendering time a lot. Thats not
usefull for an animation anymore.

Shu.

It plays for me, but it's all jittered... the animation isn't smooth. When I
try to play it a second time without closing Windows Media Player, it
doesn't play at all.

You should consider encoding in a simpler format like MPEG (try tmpgenc)
since that will work for more people and increase your chances of getting
comments. =)

Hmmm, strange. I encountered this bug with Windows Media Player too when i
used older Xvid codecs. The reason might be that You need the latest XviD
codec installed. Or simply use the Video LAN client, a small video player
which playes all kind of movies without any problems. It can be found here
:

I think TMPGEnc isn't freeware. I can only use it for 14 days than i need to
register. Not really usefull for me. I'm restricted to use freeware like
VirtualDUB, because i want to post my animations on my homepage later. I'll
look if i can find some free encoding software, because You are right,
MPEG-1 is the most common format for videos.

Free version of TMPGEnc can be used only for personal use or
noncommercial use such as presentation inside a company.

The MPEG-2 encoding capabilities expire after a trial-period, but MPEG-1
encoding is always functional.
