Trying to put together a process for generating a scene that uses focal
blur. Check out the link for the results:

http://www.huntel.net/goofygraffix/img/focal_blur.MPG

To make this, I rendered each element separately (the red blocks, the torii,
and the green cylinders), using no_image for the elements that aren't to be
visible. The blocks and torii were rendered as PNGs with the alpha channel
on. I then brought the foreground elements into Photoshop & applied
Gaussian blur (including the alpha channel) - I wrote a script in
Applescript to automate the process for all 96 frames. Did the same for
the background elements, only a little less blur. Then, I used POV to
render the elements as image_maps on polygons for the final frames.

The foreground elements have a slight whitish halo as they cross in front of
the torii, but that's because I used the white background when I rendered
them, so it's something easily fixed.

Comments welcome.
