Once again, an automated space battle using Newtonian physics. This will
probably be the last for which the source remains pure SDL. Rendering took
from 13 to 17 seconds per frame on a 2.6GHz P4 with POV running in the
background. Of that, parsing typically took 11 seconds per frame.

All weapons now track their targets at constant angular rates, and
extrapolate target position and velocity to predict correct aiming points.
Previously turrets would always track instantly. I have added some
explosions, and the AI is a bit more intelligent. There is also a fancy
background!

The animation, and some preview frames are available from

http://www.zubenelgenubi.34sp.com/graphics/graphics_anim.html

The animation is an AVI about 6MB in size, and is encoded with the DivX 5.05
codec. The frame size is 640x360 (pixels).

Very pretty, and way beyond my capabilities :)

I watched it looping about 5 or so times at first.

Jamie.

Nice!

I think the "enemy" craft should feature a little more. I had no real idea
what was being shot at. Perhaps a camera whipping from shooter to target?
