Why on earth is that movie file so big? It's not very long or hi-res.

Anyway, it looks like you've successfully UV mapped that cylinder. Well done.
...and I think I recognise one of the textures ;)

Probably uncompressed .AVI

Stephan, find AVI2MPG1.EXE at http://home.cogeco.ca/~avi2vcd/, click on
avi2mpg1 on the left menu.

It will convert your AVI to compressed MPG, which will reduce the size.

Thanks both of you. Yes I need to work on compression I use Vmach or TMPGEnc but
I am unsure what settings to use. That movie is 60 frames at 512 x 384 what size
should it be, what bit rate should I use?
My next task for this animation is to animate the body of the cylinder. BTW the
latest version of PoseRay is really good.

Thanks, it's a bit rough and ready. I was just trying to get the technique. I
still can't map Poser models properly:-{

Nice, but... why use UV-mapping on a cylinder, when there is real
cylinder-mapping in POV-ray?

Ah, good question, answer in two parts. Povray's cylindrical mapping does not
map the end caps. I was working on mapping meshes when Greg Lee asked in
povray.general how to put an image_map on the ends/caps of a cylinder. My
solution is with a cylindrical mesh not a Povray cylinder.
