Hi folks,
Couldn't help myself, it screamed animate-me animate-me.
Alex Kluchikov's "meta-superellipsoid", animated, short
30 degree camera rotation over 30 frames, 320 x 240, 4.25 hours, no AA
nah, I will not try for 360 degrees...

Actually it is not animated "meta-superellipsoid" but only camera movement :-(
Reading subject I expected this nice shape to change in time...

It almost looks like it would loop if you zoomed in or expanded the
central cube in the latter half of the movie. Beautiful. Thanks.

Very nice but it calls for a harmonic/pulsating (loopable) deformation.

My computer's harmonic pulses are not up to par, I'll leave that up to
you...

Hi @all!
Like one of the other posters in this thread, I too thought it would be
great to have this loopable.
So I made it loop!
Unfotunately i had to lower the ground (intersection with the "drops"), so
the nice ground reflections are almost gone.
There are 8 more "meta box-elemts" to make looping possible which makes a
total of 15 and I had to raise max_gradient for the isosurface to about 25
for the middle of the animation to get rid of holes in the surface.
With all these changes it took 17h 40m to render in 400x300 w/o AA on my
Athlon XP 1900+.
(I put a higher quality copy at http://madonion.homeip.net/meta2-high.avi
480k divx)
Ohh, and thanks to Alex for this really beautiful object to experiment with.
Greetings,
Manuel Kasten
