Hi(gh)!
Recently I started archiving POV-Ray scripts from p.b.s-f and p.t.s-f
much the same way I already do with images and animationes... and as,
especially in the early years, most of the entries exist a scripts only,
but not as renderings, I also try to render them as accurate as possible
(sometimes not that easy, for example with scenes using deprecated 3.0
pre-media features like halo or atmosphere).
Today I came across an intriguing blob animation script by "aardvarko",
posted on June 3, 1998... I googled for him (Chris Combs, an Australian
obviously), found his homepage and e-mail, so I asked him for permission
to publish an animation generated from this script... but unfortunately,
the website seems to be dormant since 2006, my mail has been bounced back.
But the animation he programmed 21 years ago is so beautiful that I
would like to make it known again, at least here on this server... no
harm intended.
See you in Khyberspace!

If the original author posted the script without any limitations then it would
follow that you would be free to post the rendered result. Of course it would
still be courteous and respectful to attempt to contact the author for
permission. After performing due diligence (which you have) without success you
could follow this protocol: Post your notice of intent to publish the derived
work along with a complete description of the original and a date you intend to
publish the animation. Allow at least thirty days. Provide your own contact
information. If you do not receive an objection from the author by the stated
date, post the animation.
Regards,
Dave Blandston
