Got a doppler shift as well as stereo effects based on events taking place
in SDL. This scene file isn't just modifying a pre-existing buzz sound, but
rather povray is actually writing the score for a file to be used by csound.
My attempt to do this particular one is of course heavily inspired by Rune's
posts of last year.
(I must admit that there was a bug in this version such that I had to
comment out a single line from the povray-composed score file-- I was too
lazy to re-render the whole thing just to get rid of it.)

I don't know if it's just me, but while I can vaguely hear the
stereo-effect, I can't hear any Doppler shift. The engine sounds like it's
at the same pitch throughout the entire clip.
I just wanted to let you know. I thought that maybe perhaps you have
attached by mistake an earlier version of the clip. Or maybe it really is
just me.
Best regards,
Rune

Here's a version where I tripled the frequency spread due to doppler.
The formula goes something like: old_frequency +300*vdot(velocity,
particle_position - hearers_position)
So with this actor travelling in a circle, there is no net doppler at the
point of being furthest away.

I can't hear nothing, with media player. I did hear sound with previous
version, though.

Uh, sorry. I guess I'm still figuring out what the best volumes should be,
albeit some things are just plain wierd on my system.
I could hear it on two different XP boxes with the sound turned up. I'd
happily repost another one with louder sound if it actually would benefit
anyone...

I turned the sound up *very* high before posting. It sounds like there's
no sound on my comp.

Interesting.
I'm going with Rune on this. I hear modulation of Amplitude (which sounds
right) but the buzz Frequency seems constant to my ear.
Both versions work on my XP box with WMP.
