...aka Rune's first animation that actually has a storyline.

The animation is 2 MB and can be found on this page:
http://runevision.com/3d/anims/

After giving up on JOAL (Java Bindings for OpenAL -
https://joal.dev.java.net/ ) and using LWJGL instead (Lightweight Java Game
Library - http://www.lwjgl.org/ ) which includes a different implementation
of OpenAL, things have started to actually work without crashing Java all
the time and without behaving oddly, and the sound quality is improved too.
I've had problems adjusting the doppler velocity in LWJGL though, but I've
found a workaround that seems to fix it.

This means that I've been able to finish the demo animation and a
pre-pre-pre alpha version (or something like that) of POV-Sound should be
ready soon.

Feedback is most welcome!

Thank you! :)

Trying to tell a story by so simple means was pretty interesting.

By the way, the animation use only five input sounds:

ufo.wav
clang.wav
hatch.wav
zap.wav
stopspinning.wav

All other variation is caused by doppler effect and manual control over the
pitch...

"The current topic for the animation competition ending 15 October 2004 is:
Duel"

Now that's a coincidence... I can see how my animation fits the topic.

However:

- It was not made specifically for the IRTC, which the rules require.

- It is created as a simple *test-animation* and certainly does not show off
my skills optimally.

- There are only 4 days to improve it to IRTC standards.

- I don't like to submit something half-baked. Even if it might rank higher
than some other entries, I don't like to submit an entry that I'm not proud
of.
