Inspired by the recent boid animation posted here (sorry cant remember who
by) I thought I would finally have a blast myself. I have been thinking
about doing this for some time and due to the fact I have some time off work
now seemed a good time to start.
A few little things still need tweaking but I am getting there. Some of my
boids seem to enjoy firing off booster rockets and leaving the central arena
at break neck speed. I have put a little bit of code in so if they do that
they get sent back to the origin. This causes a little bit of weirdness
there so I am going to have to try some alternatives.
The whole boid system follows the standard algorithm for the best part. My
math is a little rusty so I hope I have interpreted things correctly.
I would like to implement a field of view for each boid but am not sure on
how to do this as of yet. If anyone has any suggestions please post.
