I decided to spend last night messing around with isosurfaces to see if I could
get a nice rust effect and maybe enter the current IRTC stills round. Anyway, I
got a nice effect and decided to see what happened if I animated it. I think it
looks pretty realistic, I'm particularly pleased with the way the paint bubbles
before the rust shows through, reminds me of the bodywork on my car :)

What do you think?

Hmm Nice... you could make it a "Beam me up Scotty" type anim to with this
effect. Except the rust would be a glowing type media?

Very nice effect. Does the ball disappear because you are changing the
threshold parameter?
Could I see the code for that?
thanks

I like it! Would be cool if it rusted all the way to center as it
proportionaly fell to the platform.

Ah... so THAT'S why you shouldn't leave POV-Ray rendering outdoors ;-)

Seriously... that's one interesting effect!

Thanks.
Andrew.
