I know many of you have probably seen the recent NASA animations showing the
simulation of a Mars landing on television. Sorry if you're sick of seeing
that. :-) I got inspired enough to try a little of that in POV-Ray.
Thinking more along the lines of a Titan reentry, one of Saturn's moons.
No particle systems used, only media and the f_paraboloid function for the
shapes of smoke plume, firey shockwave, and capsule. Oh, and lest I forget,
Chris Colefax's clock modifier for the somewhat haphazard camera motion.
With any luck I'll get further into this animation.
