A visualisation of a df3 volume set of a lobster done with POV-Ray.
Scattering media, illuminated by two light sources. The result is amazingly
good as the data set was only 120x120x32.

make it look like some kind of lobster-shaped cloud! :)

Where do you get df3 data from and how do you use it in povray? I'm quite keen
to try this myself.

It has not much to do with a hologram though. It's possibly the colours and
the 3D impression through the rotation that you makes think so.

Yeah, one should get something like a isosurface (actually I have tried to
render it as isosurface as well but the trilinear interpolation gets
visible if you render the funciton directly.)

I got the file as .dat from my prof and converted it to df3. The data is
used as density of the scattering (and a bit emitting).
