Well here's the larger version. It looks good, but now I wish it went on a bit
longer! Unfortunately at 20 minutes per frame I think I'll leave this thing
until I upgrade my computer (in a few weeks).

Naw... Pretty boring. NOT!
This is one of the prettiest things I've seen done in Povray.
"It's life, Jim, but not as we know it!"

(a bit late, I was looking for more of your ship after commenting on the
take off sequence).
I love this, but the colors just look 'odd' to me. Most nebulae either have
glows from oxygen, hydrogen, and nitrogen atoms, blue, green, and red
respectively. Look at some of the Astronomy pictures of the day, i.e.
http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap030304.html
and
http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap000802.html
and
http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap030228.html
sometimes sulphur:
http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/image/0210/m8_barba_big.jpg
and some reflection nebulas that reflect (blue) light:
http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap030129.html
The key though is that you have to look for 'representative color', as most
astro images are 'false color' to show specific frequencies of light that
aren't 'real' (what we would see with our eyes).

Usually, oxygen is red, hydrogen is green and dust is blue.
