mpeg12 you say? Media Player spits out "Cannot find codec" and then plays a
lot of coloured blocks :( Where'd you get the codec?

Hehe, and these ones I can't see, cause my Windows
Media Player says it cant find the codecs...

You're using Linux? In that case I can't suggest
you to use TMPEG-Enc, which is a freeware
and VERY good MPEG Encoder I have once
found and used ever since.

Sure. They are encoded in the same way, at least that's what Windows
tells me. And of course I had no problems viewing them.

And where could I find this? I only found
http://www.tmpgenc.net/e_main.html but cannot see a Linux version.

Perhaps you overread what I wrote:
Cause you're using Linux, I CAN'T
suggest using TMPEGEnc, afaik
its only available for Windows...

Ah well. Just try to make MPEG-1,
you'll notice by the comments if it
worked... ;-)

I think I have now found a way that works... unfortunately the mpegs are up
to a factor 2 larger and still have worse quality :(

I have canceled my first try to produce mpeg-1 as probably only the program
that did the encoding could actually read it. Here is the second try. (The
smaller animation only)

What about posting a small, low quality mpeg and uploading a high quality
divx elsewhere on the net and posting a link in your message?
