I stumbled across the Internet Movie Project going on for PovRay animators
last week. If you are not familiar with this project you can check it out
at:

http://www.imp.org

I sent this little clip to them as a sample of something I had done in the
past. It is not impressive work but was small and handy. Is anyone here a
member? I was just curious what thoughts everyone had about it. It looks
like it would be a fun project if I got accepted.

Thanks
Doug

It looks pretty nice, though I'd expect the explosion to
appear a little earlier.

If you'd want to enhance it, add some fiery particles to the
Asteroid. I think that smoke wouldn't be that visible at night,
but perhaps (if it isn't already) add some.
Another major enhancement would be some debris the
explosion knocks about...

But I know, it's just a little clip, small and handy. I was
just describing in case you wanted to do some
more...

If you want to join the IMP, you are already accepted. Subscribe to some of
the mailing-list and bring in you work and thoughts - that's all you have to
do afaik.

Greetings,

Marc-Hendrik

I'm having an IMP render client running all the time. It's on low priority,
so when my box has some CPU to spare, I'm rendering frames for the notorious
POVray movie 'Earth Invaded?'.

Check the irc channel #IMP at newnet.net.

I got my acceptance emails from IMP last Tuesday. I'll be checking in with
them soon. Thanks for all of our posts.

Thanks
Doug
